This engagement is designed for creators who are building more than a book.

It is for an author with original stories, characters, concepts, or intellectual property who wants to transform those ideas into a professionally published body of work while establishing the ownership, publishing infrastructure, and foundation needed to build a larger creative ecosystem.

Whether the long term vision includes additional books, a series, comics, graphic novels, merchandise, licensing, film, television, digital content, live experiences, or other extensions of the intellectual property, the objective is to establish the publishing foundation correctly from the beginning.

The creator retains ownership of their original intellectual property and author royalties. Our role is to provide the strategy, professional team, coordination, accountability, production support, and administrative legwork required to move the vision from concept to completion.

Publishing Ownership Infrastructure

We establish the foundational publishing infrastructure necessary for the author to operate independently.

This includes:

• Setup and guidance for the author’s own Bowker account

• ISBN acquisition and registration support

• Assignment of appropriate ISBNs to applicable formats

• Barcode coordination

• Publishing metadata setup

• Amazon KDP account setup or optimization

• Amazon Author Central setup

• Publishing category and keyword guidance

• Pricing and distribution configuration

• Assistance establishing the necessary publishing accounts in the author’s name

The objective is to build the infrastructure around the author and their intellectual property rather than creating unnecessary dependence on our company.

Intellectual Property and Author Ownership

The author’s original stories, characters, concepts, manuscripts, creative universe, and other original intellectual property remain the author’s property.

Our company is providing professional publishing, development, production, strategy, and coordination services. We are not acquiring the author’s intellectual property through this engagement.

The author retains 100% of the author royalties generated from the publication, subject to ordinary printing, retailer, distributor, platform, tax, and transaction fees charged by applicable third parties.

Our company does not take an ongoing percentage of the author’s book royalties under this publishing services engagement.

Manuscript and Editorial Development

We coordinate the professional editorial process required to transform the author’s collection of stories into a cohesive body of work.

Services include:

• Manuscript assessment

• Organization and sequencing of stories

• Editorial recommendations

• Line editing

• Copyediting

• Grammar, punctuation, and consistency review

• Continuity review across the collection

• Final proofreading

• Title and subtitle refinement

• Book description and back cover copy

• Author biography development or refinement

• Supporting publishing and promotional copy

The author’s voice and creative identity remain central throughout the process.

Professional Book Production

Once the editorial phase is complete, we coordinate the transformation of the manuscript into a professionally designed publication.

This includes:

• Interior book design

• Professional typesetting

• Chapter and story styling

• Front and back matter

• Copyright page

• Table of contents when appropriate

• Page numbering and formatting

• Cover design and production

• Paperback cover preparation

• Digital cover assets

• Print ready files

• eBook formatting when applicable

• Technical preparation for publishing platforms

• Proof coordination and quality control

Project Management and Professional Team Coordination

The author does not have to independently find, vet, organize, and manage every professional necessary to complete the project.

We coordinate the appropriate creative and publishing resources on the author’s behalf, which may include editors, proofreaders, designers, formatters, publishing administrators, and other approved specialists.

We manage the moving pieces of the project, including timelines, files, communication, revisions, approvals, technical requirements, and production milestones.

This project management and coordination is a significant part of the engagement.

The author gets to remain the visionary while having professional support responsible for helping move the vision forward.

Strategy, Accountability, and Completion Support

Great intellectual property has little commercial value if it remains unfinished.

For that reason, this engagement includes ongoing accountability and strategic support throughout the development and publishing process.

We help the author:

• Establish realistic milestones

• Identify what is needed at each stage

• Make decisions that keep production moving

• Complete required author responsibilities

• Review and approve deliverables

• Navigate publishing questions

• Work through obstacles that could delay completion

• Maintain momentum from manuscript through publication

The author is not simply handed a checklist and expected to figure everything out independently. Our team remains involved throughout the process to help move the project toward completion.

Building the Larger Ecosystem

The initial publication is approached as the foundation of a potentially larger intellectual property ecosystem.

During development, we consider how the work may eventually support opportunities such as:

• Additional books and story collections

• Book series

• Comics and graphic novels

• Merchandise and physical products

• Digital experiences

• Reader communities

• Speaking and appearances

• Licensing opportunities

• Film and television development

• Animation

• Audio

• Educational or experiential products

These future products and services are not automatically included within the $7,500 engagement. However, the publishing foundation is developed with the larger vision in mind so that the creator is not simply producing a book without considering what the intellectual property could become.

Foundational Market Preparation

The engagement also includes foundational support for introducing the finished work to the marketplace.

Depending upon the final strategy, this can include:

• Launch planning

• Book positioning

• Promotional copy

• Select social media launch content

• Book mockups

• Promotional one sheet

• QR code integration

• Basic reader engagement pathway

• Basic email capture or digital connection point

This establishes a starting point for building an audience around the work. Comprehensive advertising, public relations, ongoing marketing management, extensive website development, and major media production are separate services.

Printing and Inventory

Bulk printing and wholesale inventory are separate from the $7,500 professional services investment.

Once the publication is complete, we can assist the author with determining printing quantities, understanding author copy pricing, coordinating orders, and developing a strategy for direct sales or wholesale inventory.

This allows the author to determine the amount of inventory appropriate for their business rather than having the cost of an arbitrary number of books built into the professional services fee.

What the $7,500 Investment Represents

The investment is not simply a fee to upload a manuscript and publish a book.

It encompasses the professional strategy, editorial development, publishing copy, design, production, publishing infrastructure, account setup, ISBN coordination, project management, professional team coordination, technical administration, accountability, and hands on execution necessary to move an author’s intellectual property toward the marketplace.

The creator begins with stories and a vision.

The goal is to finish with a professionally developed body of work, independently controlled publishing infrastructure, a commercially available publication, and a stronger foundation from which the intellectual property can continue to grow.

The author owns the vision. The author owns the intellectual property. The author retains their author royalties. We help build and coordinate the infrastructure necessary to bring it to life.
